Just plain dumb – another lottery system myth

October 28, 2006

Reported by Yahoo news here http://uk.news.yahoo.com/25102006/140/revealed-win-lottery.html

Some people have claimed to have worked out a system to beat the lottery, if reality they just got lucky. Camelot then come along and blatantly lie by saying “the usual odds of hitting the jackpot was 14 million to one but employing the boffins’ system reduced the odds drastically” – lies, I assume, intended to encourage more people to try this scheme and hence spend more money on tickets. The lottery is random, the only way to guarantee a win is to buy every combination.
If I were at university being taught by one of these people I would demand a more intelligent lecturer.
